Joining the Ecological Land Co-op
The Ecological Land Co-operative is a member organisation; once you become a member, you join the group of people who collectively own the Co-operative and decide how it should be run.
You can attend and vote at our AGM, including voting the Board back in, or out, and you can stand for director yourself. If you invest in the Co-operative you can also share in the Co-operative's profits.
Members can log in to the Members Area, which provides all of the Co-operative's records, such as meeting minutes and annual accounts, and provides a forum for members to discuss issues amongst ourselves.
There are three types of membership:
Investor Members have invested money in the Co-operative.
Worker Members are those people that work for the Co-operative. Worker Members are employees and volunteers that work at least 15 days a year for the Co-operative.
Steward Members are ecological land managers. They either have a leasehold agreement with the Co-operative or manage land ecologically within the UK. The latter are required to provide two references from a current member, a landowner, a federal body, and/or an environmental organisation, stating that they are actively engaged in land management and are following good ecological practices.
If you do not fall into any of these categories of membership but are interested in supporting and / or staying in touch with the Co-operative, we would love to invite you to become a Supporter.
